Kiwi Rail Metroport, Stormwater Channel Install
Glasgow contractors were approached to install 150mmØ cast in situ dish drains around two base containers at the Kiwi Rail workshop premises located in Neilson Street, Onehunga, Auckland.
The scope of works included the following:
-Removal of asphalt and subbase from the structures to expose the containers base, install new cesspits, drainage and cast a 150mmØ dish drain which included a vertical concrete nib. This would allow the base of the containers to be accessed for maintenance in the future.
-The new drains were between 450 – 550mm deep and were designed to catch any sheet flow from the newly installed awning. The stormwater was connected and discharged into the existing stormwater network.
